Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with our Guided Slavery Walking Tour at 1:30 PM.

Learn about the history of slavery at Shirley Plantation and the lives of the enslaved who lived and worked here. From the earliest records of Africans in Virginia, their indentured predecessors, to the many facets of the roles they played, where and how they lived and what happened to them.

This rain or shine guided tour is complimentary with admission and will take place indoors in the event of inclement weather. This is an outside walking tour on the grounds of Shirley. Tour lasts approximately 45 minutes. Weather appropriate clothing and shoes is recommended.

The Slavery Walking Tour will be offered at 1:30 PM and is complimentary with a Self-Guided Grounds Only Admission or a Guided House Tour Admission. 

Guided House Tours will be offered at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM
