Enslavement Walking Tours Are Being Offered Saturday, November 28th, 2020, at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM
Included with admission are Shirley’s Enslavement Walking Tours offered at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 28th, 2020.
The Enslavement Walking Tour is an outdoor tour focusing on the history of enslavement at Shirley Plantation and the lives of the enslaved who lived and worked here. From the earliest records of Africans in Virginia, their indentured predecessors, to the many facets of and labor roles they played, where and how they lived, and what happened to them.
Due to COVID-19 and in accordance with Virginia’s Phase 3 requirements tour capacity is limited and groups must maintain social distancing (minimum 6 ft). We request that guests with children please adhere to social distancing requirements. As this is an outdoor tour please dress accordingly. Coats, hats, and umbrellas are encouraged. If inclement weather, the tour will be canceled.
