Enslavement Walking Tour

Shirley’s Enslavement Walking Tour will be offered at 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 22nd. 

Learn about the history of enslavement at Shirley and the lives of the enslaved who lived and worked here. From the earliest records of Africans in Virginia, their indentured predecessors, to the many facets of and labor roles they played, where and how they lived, and what happened to them.

Enslavement Walking Tour Times:

1:00 PM – 1:45 PM

or

2:30 PM – 3:15 PM

Guided House Tour Times:

10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

12:00 PM – 12:45 PM

1:30 PM – 2:15 PM

3:00 PM – 3:45 PM

This is an outside walking tour on the grounds of Shirley. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Tours may be canceled in case of inclement weather.
